Previously, Patty was the Director of Continuing Education at Penn State York, overseeing the development, coordination, and planning of the Personal Care Home Administrator (PCHA) and Assisted Living Residence (ALR) training.  She has earned her PCHA Certificate in addition to having facilitated classes for the 100-hour course for seven years. 

She has worked as a marketing director and human resource trainer in the personal care industry and as a professional development presenter/trainer for business, education, and healthcare. Patty earned her associate’s degree in business management from HACC, a bachelor’s degree in applied behavioral science, a certificate in human resources management, and a master’s degree in education from Penn State.

Jim Bryan is a seasoned residential healthcare leader with over 25 years of experience spanning adolescent behavioral health, personal care homes, and large-scale senior living operations. Starting as a direct care worker and advancing to Executive Director of a 200+ bed facility, Jim brings hands-on expertise in regulatory compliance, leadership development, and operational excellence. He is the founder of TPHP Consulting, specializing in staff training, behavioral health services, and organizational development for residential care providers. A university instructor and sought-after speaker, Jim combines practical knowledge with a passion for developing strong, compassionate administrators prepared to lead in Pennsylvania’s Personal Care Home sector.

Dr. Charlene Smith is an Assistant Professor of Career and Technology Education at UMES (University of Maryland Eastern Shore). Prior to UMES, Dr. Smith taught Family and Consumer Sciences in Maryland and Pennsylvania for approximately 20 years. She earned her doctorate in Occupational and Technical Studies from Old Dominion University and her Masters in Nutrition Education from American University. 

Most recently, Dr. Smith facilitated the Nutrition, Food Handling and Sanitation module for the PCHA program at Penn State York. She has certifications as a ServSafe Food Manager, CPR and First Aid, and STEM endorsement from the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

Tony Clousher began his fire service career in 1996 with the Borough of Hanover and has steadily advanced through leadership roles, serving as Captain in 2009, Deputy Chief in 2015, and being appointed Fire Chief for Hanover Area Fire & Rescue in 2017. He holds multiple National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications, including Fire Officer III, Fire Inspector II, Plans Examiner II, Fire Service Instructor II, and Fire Investigator. Tony is also a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators and a PA Certified Paramedic. He holds an Associate of Arts in Fire Science and brings decades of expertise in fire safety, inspection, and emergency preparedness to the classroom.

Lon Kieffer is a Registered Nurse with a BS in Nursing and an MBA, and a licensed Nursing Home Administrator in Maryland and Delaware with over 20 years of leadership experience across senior living settings, including roles as NHA, Executive Director in CCRCs, and Business Development for a rehab therapy company. He currently serves as Executive Director of the Milford Wellness Village. Lon has also taught graduate-level Health Administration, managed NCOA wellness grants focused on chronic disease and fall prevention, and presented at PHCA and PALA conferences. Known for his “Let HUMOR Work” philosophy, he emphasizes communication that builds both personal and professional community.

Alison is the Director of Client Services at Good News Consulting and the PENN HOSA–Future Health Professionals State Advisor. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Long Term Care Administration and is a CMC-Certified Care Manager, CADDCT-Certified Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care Trainer, CDP-Certified Dementia Practitioner, and CFRDT-Certified First Responder Dementia Trainer. With experience in long term care dating back to 1993, Alison has worked across home care, social services, care planning, marketing, and leadership. She began her career as a home health aide and personal care assistant while earning her degree at York College of Pennsylvania. Since 2006, she has trained thousands of professional and family caregivers and spoken extensively on Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias throughout PA, DE, NJ, and OH.
